Made in Vancouver

Rain jackets that carry history, celebrate culture, and protect the planet - crafted with fabric that gives plastic a second life.

Sustainability

Plastic Bottles, Reimagined

Every Hogan's Alley jacket is made from recycled PET plastic - the same material in water bottles and food containers. Instead of ending up in landfills, oceans, and waterways, that plastic becomes the fabric you wear.

Every material in a Hogan's Alley jacket is sourced from the Greater Vancouver Area. We built our supply chain within driving distance of our studio - because keeping it local means keeping it accountable. The recycled polyester performs just as well as virgin material: water-resistant, breathable, and built to last.

The Artist

Joel "Chidi" Sydenham

Visual Artist & Creative Partner - London, UK

Chidi is a British-Nigerian visual artist and poet whose work explores the connections between all living things. His art is deeply influenced by his cultural experiences and his belief in an underlying unity between all things in existence.

"The intention with everything I practice is to uplift people, build social bridges, and remind everyone that there is endless beauty within them."

We work closely with Chidi to develop the themes behind each print collection. His vision aligns perfectly with ours: celebrating interconnectedness, honoring cultural heritage, and creating work that uplifts. Our repeating patterns pay homage to traditional African wax prints while bringing them into a contemporary Canadian context.

The Maker

Crafted by Hand in Vancouver

Local Atelier Partnership - Vancouver, BC

Every Hogan's Alley jacket is constructed by a small, independent atelier right here in Vancouver. We chose to work with local tailors from day one - not overseas factories, not mass production lines. Real hands, real craft, a few kilometres from where we design.

Our production partner isn't just a manufacturer - they're a true collaborator. From pattern development to final stitch, they've helped us refine every detail, test durability in Vancouver's relentless rain, and push the standard of what a rain parka can be. Supporting local makers isn't a marketing line. It's how we build.

  • Expert pattern development and prototyping
  • Rigorous durability testing for all-weather performance
  • Design consultation and technical refinement
  • Premium construction with meticulous attention to detail
  • Vancouver-made - supporting independent local makers

The Founders

Three Friends, One Vision

We're three millennials who immigrated to Canada in the mid-2000s and became fast friends. Together with our artist Chidi, we draw on inspiration from our experiences back home to create prints that celebrate African heritage in a Canadian context - paying homage to traditional wax fabrics through bold, contemporary patterns.

"We love bringing contemporary African fashion to a Canadian context - creating rain gear that's as bold as the cities we live in."
